Fran Winfield has worked for Valerus for approximately 2 years; however she has been volunteering to help non-profit organizations in the Bryan / College Station area for most of her career. Fran’s favorite non-profit organization is the Brazos Valley Chapter of the American Petroleum Institute (API). Fran chose this organization because the mission of the Chapter is to raise funds for scholarships and to help local oilfield families in times of need. She is currently the Scholarship Chairman and has been serving in that position since 2005. Fran attends the school scholarship nights to present the API scholarships on behalf of the organization, and she monitors the 19 students who are currently on 4 year scholarships to be sure they abide by their scholarship guidelines each semester.
An active member of the API, Fran attends monthly meetings and volunteers to work on various Planning Committees for numerous fund raising events. The most popular and fun event is the annual golf tournament held every year in June. Not only does she help with planning and working at the 3 day event on behalf of the API, but Fran also works at the Valerus hospitality tent on the course for 2 days from daylight to dark.
Fran has been married to her husband, Lloyd, for 30 years and they have 2 sons, Kyle and Casey. She has worked in the oil and gas industry since 1978. When she is not working on fund-raisers, Fran’s favorite activities include boating, kneeboarding, watching her sons wakeboard and spending time with good friends.
