Granite Wash: 60 MMscf/d (70,800 m3/hr) Cryo Facility

Background

After considering multiple options for expanding their regional gas processing facility, the customer ultimately determined that Valerus offered the most favorable solution in terms of expertise, schedule and overall cost, especially considering the difficulties specific to the location. Valerus agreed to provide a standard 60 MMscf/d (70,800 m3/hr) cryogenic plant as well as supervise site preparation, construction and commissioning.

Challenge

Local geography and soil composition made traditional foundation designs unsuitable for the site.

Advantage

Valerus surveyed the designated construction site and conducted an exhaustive review of site preparation methods before designing a solution incorporating engineered screw piles to provide the necessary stability. Simultaneously, Valerus engineers configured a standard 60 MMscf/d (70,800 m3/hr) cryogenic plant for extracting valuable hydrocarbon liquids from the unique gas stream. The facility was completed and fully operational on schedule in 2012.
