Yopal, Colombia: 40 MMscf/d (47,200 m3/hr) LPG Facility
Background
Valerus was approached to design and deliver a complete, turnkey cryogenic plant to extract valuable revenue-generating hydrocarbon liquids from a natural gas stream while optimizing fuel for a 150 MW power generation facility in rural Colombia.
Challenge
The power generation facility was located in a rural, mountainous area. Site preparation involved significant cut and fill to create a suitable space for the cryo plant, as well as upgrading roads for improved vehicle access.
Advantage
The completed cryo facility will improve fuel quality for the power generation facility, and allow the customer to capitalize on the inherent value of the hydrocarbon liquids in the gas stream. By supervising site preparation and equipment design as well as installation and commissioning, Valerus is able to ensure that all components are fully compatible and compliant with industry standards and local regulations.
