Congonhas, Brazil: 10,080 hp (7,520 kW) Compressor Station

Background

The customer approached Valerus to design and build a pipeline booster station to deliver gas for a large power generating facility in Brazil. To minimize organizational and administrative complications, the customer chose to source all aspects of the project to a single vendor.

Challenge

The booster station, including six 7044 compressor packages, had to be installed in a remote rural area, with limited access to the site.

Advantage

Valerus managed every aspect of the project, designing a complete compression facility — including civil, mechanical and electrical engineering — and supervising construction and commissioning on site in 100 days. Because the compressor station is entirely owned and managed by Valerus, the customer was able to invest capital resources in other projects.
