Mechanical Refrigeration Plants
Natural gas contains a wide range of hydrocarbon compounds, some of which can condense and form liquids that can cause problems with pipelines and downstream equipment. These liquids usually have high value. Refrigerating the gas lowers the hydrocarbon dewpoint, thereby condensing these hydrocarbons as natural gas liquids (NGL), which can then be removed and recovered under controlled conditions. We can also provide NGL product stabilization equipment to assist this recovery.
Valerus provides mechanical refrigeration plants in the following standard configurations:
- 35 MMscf/d
- 60 MMscf/d
- 120 MMscf/d
- 200 MMscf/d
